No-limit poker rules state that a player is permitted to bet all of the chips that are in front of him as soon as his turn comes. Unlike in the movies where players throw car keys on the pot, no-limit poker rules does not tolerate anything else to be bet aside from the money you have on the table when the hand started. Things to remember before starting a game of Razz:

* The Ace is the lowest card and the King as the leader

* Straight and Flush does not count.

* There is no restriction for a qualifying hand. Players must simply develop the lowest possible hand to win.

The lowest possible hand in Razz would be A2345. It is often played with a fixed limit betting structure although there might be some occasion when one can stumble a no limit or pot limit game. Fixed limit means that no player may bet more or less that what is at stake.

In a game of Razz, there are five rounds of betting with the first and second rounds have bets leveling to the low-end stakes. The last three betting rounds must have bets and raises equal to high-end stakes. Unlike Texas Holdem, Razz do not require blind bets instead it uses Ante bet and Bring-In. *Ante is a small bet placed by all players prior to the distribution of the card usually 10-25% the low bet.

*Bring-In is placed by the highest door card (the sole card facing up after the initial deal). It is a forced bet half the small bet. For instance, in a $2-$4 game, bring-in would be $1.

Game will begins with a small ante placed by all players to create the pot. Each player is dealt three cards, two of which are facing down. The bring-in bet is placed by the worst third street (card dealt face up). Players now have the choice to bring in bet or raise the bet to the full amount. The fourth card is now given to the rest of the players. The best hand opens the round of bets. The fifth and sixth cards will be received face up and one final hole card with betting allowed after each. The lowest five-card hand wins the pot.

Even if the game started with a high number of players, eventually these players will be lost until there are only two players left for a heads-up. When you hear other people saying that this is a fast-paced game with sometimes little or no time to think, they are right. Players who intend to go for a heads-up must mostly rely on quick thinking to pull them through.

Some helpful tips in heads-up:

* For many players, position is everything. Actions done after every flop, turn and river can be an advantage because in this way, players can see what his opponent is doing and based from that opponents moves, one can now act their next move.

* Reading your opponent can be a vital piece of information. A player must know when their opponent has the hand, when they are bluffing or when they are going to draw. A player must work out as fast as they can in their head if their opponent is going to raise, check or call your bet. Of course, this may not always be precise but having an idea when your opponent is going to act is a must if a player wants to succeed in heads-up poker.

* Sometimes it is better to fold than winning a hand due to the fact that there are players who win small pots and also loses big pots. A player must know when they don’t have a winning hand than just keep going on thereby sacrificing too many chips in the pot. It is actually one skill that many poker players overlook.

* Bluffing. Admit it, most of the time the two matching opponents won’t always have a good hand but the player who bluffs the most almost always wins. Look for opportunities where you can bluff your opponent out of the pot but make sure that it is worth it.

The game begins with the two players at the left of the dealer with a small and large blind. The rest follow with their antes. Three hole cards are then dealt to each player. A round of betting starts after the cards have been dealt and it will be based on the cards of each player.

Final round of betting ensues starting with the player sitting four seats to the left of the dealer. The showdown now begins with players revealing their cards. Players that has not folded during the betting rounds may reveal their cards and declare their hand. They may use any combination of their two hole cards and the five community cards from the board to form their best hand. The player with the best five-card hand wins the pot.

Pineapple can be played as a high and low game.

The dealer gives each player five community cards (to be used to make their hand) after receiving the first four face-down cards.

The order of the betting and playing in Omaha works in this order:

1) Big and small blinds are placed in order for the pot to start. The player at the left of the dealer puts the small blind into the pot first. In pot limit and no pot limit, the small blind is equal to the small stake and the big blind to the large stake.

2) Players are dealt with four hole cards.

3) Betting round begins. Player sitting to the left of the big blind starts.

4) After the first betting round, three community cards will be dealt all facing up.

5) Second betting (called flop) round follows, beginning at the left of the small blind.

6) After the flop is completed, another community card is dealt.

7) Third betting round called turn ensues starting with the player in the small blind.

8) The final community card will be dealt after the turn has been completed.

9) The fourth and final betting round will follow beginning with the player in the small blind. This betting round is often referred to as the “river”.

10) After all the betting has been completed and community cards dealt, showdown will start. Remaining players must compare their five-card hand with the pot goes to the highest ranking hand.

The Omaha Hi is a game similar to Texas Hold’Em in that it is a community game – five community cards are dealt to the players, available for everyone to use. It is much stricter than the Texas Hold’Em though, because in Texas Hold’Em, you are dealt two hole cards to be used with any of the five community cards dealt to your table in order to be able to form a hand; whereas in the Omaha Hi, you are dealt four hole cards and you are required to use exactly two of those cards with exactly three of the community cards in order to come up with the best possible hand you can come up with. This is why the Omaha is not a recommended game for beginners who are not yet used to the various techniques and playing strategies applied in poker games in general.

The betting process in Omaha Hi is the same as the process in the Texas Hold’Em poker game, and the same rule applies: at the end of the game, the one with the highest hand wins. However, achieving certain hands are difficult because of the fact that there are times when the community cards already have four of the five you need to play a hand, and your hole cards has that one card you need, and yet you cannot just play that hand if you do not have another of the kind you need for that hand, because you only need exactly three from the table and two from your hole cards. These poker tournaments feature only the best players in the poker world, and given their enormous skill in beating the game (and their opponents) comes their enormous bank accounts as well. That is why these Texas Hold’Em tournaments are often played with the no-limit system of betting. Indeed, most of the televised poker games that you may have watched on television at one point in your life are no-limit Texas hold’em games. This way of playing Texas hold’em is not recommended for beginners, because it requires intense capabilities to read and analyze people’s actions, facial expressions, and decisions. The usual methods of card memorization do not apply to this game, however, as the up cards that are dealt are common property. This is why bluffing effectively is important in raising the pot when you have a really good hand going for you, and and it is also important in stopping the other players on the table from reading your body language and determining what hand it is that you have.

Lowball games have four methods to them, and under these methods are many examples of different versions of lowball. The variations are as follows: First, the ace-to-five-low, wherein the lowest possible hand is the wheel, or a 5-4-3-2-A combination. This method is the most commonly used method of lowball, and in this method the flushes and the straights are not considered in the game. The ace also is a low card in this method. The second method is the ace-to-six low method. In this method, and in the previous one as well, pairs and trips are considered a negative to have in one’s hand, and the lowest possible combination is the 6-4-3-2-A combination. In both the first two methods the ace plays a low card. The third combination is the deuce-to-seven-low, and as the name suggests, the lowest combination required is 7-5-4-3-2. In this game, the aces are considered high cards, and so the lowest rank is 2. It is also known as seven-five, and this name is obviously derived from the first two numbers of the lowest possible combination. It is also known as the Kansas City lowball. The final method is not used very often – in fact, it is rarely used. This is the deuce-to-six-low, wherein the lowest combination possible is 6-5-4-3-2. As with the previous method, aces are considered high cards. In all the methods the flushes and the straights are not regarded.
