Proper Game Behavior
Specific rules may vary from casino to casino and quite frankly, that is the thing that attracts players to poker games. Rules may be different in various places yet they still follow the same guidelines enough for players to understand, familiarize and follow wherever part of the world they may be. Poker has been so popular that there are people who actually wrote about all the ins and outs of it, including the proper rules behavior. The name Robert Ciaffone comes to mind as one of the leading authority when it comes to card room rules. It includes the proper conduct when in the room, proper poker manners while playing and other poker rules.
Conduct Code
* Cheating.
* There is a code of conduct in every card room and everyone must be smart enough to follow them. Violators will be punished accordingly.
* Use of illegal substances is a no-no.
* Disturbing the environment by noise and other unnecessary arguments.
* Destroying something that is not yours is totally wrong.
* Using obscene language is not only intolerable, it is also demeaning.
Table etiquette includes:
* No cell phone at the tables. It’s simple. You are there to play poker not to talk on the phone.
* Wait for your turn.
* Never reveal what’s in your hands, giving other players information that they should not be actually having.
* No string bets. After players have placed their bet, they should not increase whenever they feel like it.
* Purposely stalling in the game.
* Arranging the chips in a disturbing manner. i.e., stacking them which could interfere with card dealing or card viewing.
* Show all your cards to all the other players in the table.
* Players cannot tell another player to turn their hand face up during the showdown.
